How to: step-by-step

  1. Select the PDF.
  2. Choose the number position and format, such as a simple number or Page 1.
  3. Set the starting number, font size and colour; skip the first page if it is a cover.
  4. Apply page numbers, download and check the first and last numbered pages.

Tips for better results

  • Place numbers inside the printable margin.
  • Add numbers after finalizing the page order.

Common pitfalls

  • New numbers can overlap numbers already printed in the document.
  • Visible numbers do not necessarily change PDF viewer page labels.

Before you finish

The numbers are added page content. Keep an unnumbered copy if the sequence may change.
